TALENTS OF TOMORROW
Save the date : June 14, 2014! Berlin Art Prize, here we go!
After a successful event in 2013, Berlin Art Prize is going for its second edition and the news for this year is the crowdfunding campaign, where everyone can can give a little hand and support the talents of tomorrow.
Being founded by four independent cultural producers, this is a non-institutional prize. Sophie Jung, Zoë Claire Miller, Alicia Reuter and Ulrich Wulff created this recognition, so that the artists can be evaluated only by their work – being presented anonymously to the jury. It is directed towards Berlin-based artists, that have lived here at least six months, and is divided in to three categories: “Best Composition”, “Best Concept” and “Jury’s Choice”.
Almost 1200 artists have applied for this years edition, but only 29 nominees where chosen: Malte Bartsch, Jean-Baptiste Bouvet, Ulu Braun, Dennis Buck, Jenny Brosinnski, Paolo Chiasera, Des Ptohograhpies, Sophia Domagala, Louise Gibson, Daniel Grüttner, Ethan Hayes-Chute, Kaoru Hirano, Daniel Hoflund, Okka-Esther Hungerbühler, Nico Ihlein, Bernd Imminger, Anne Lass, Dafna Maimon, Julie Oppermann, Oliver Pietsch, Ethna O’Regan, Jonathan Rescigno, Hoji Tsuchiya, Katarina Unger, Benjamin de Burca and Barbara Wagner, Elmar Vestner, Oliver Walker, Kai Zimmer.
All the nominees will have their work presented in the exhibition, which will stay on display until June 28, 2014.
