ULYANA SERGEENKO HAUTE COUTURE S/S 14
A Russian Couture shopper became a Couture designer
Ulyana Sergeenko shows her fourth couture collection and continues the ongoing exploration of the narrative powers of Haute Couture. She turns travel into dresses and shows the possibility and surprise offered by travel through both time and space and turns memories and impressions into a fantasy world of her own.
In every collection she tells us a story, this time an imaginary trip on the Orient Express. A femme fatale protagonist on a journey, crossing borders, bringing back pieces from the men she met on her travel and mixing them into her own persona. A feminine take on the masculine dressing from the former Soviet republics.
A nonchalantly elegant mood showed in light fabrics, embroideries, khalats and oversized garments emphasising the sophisticated image of a natural merge between east and west, feminine and masculine. Innocent and delicate.
