IT’S TIME TO DETOX
Welcome 2014. New Year, new start, new habits. Eat healthier, exercise more, stop smoking, drink less..and so on. Yes, it’s time to detox!
Detox diets are advertised as a way to remove toxins from the body. There are several ways of execution of course— but typically a period of fasting is followed by a strict diet of raw vegetables and fruit juices. I tried a 5 day juice cleanse. No raw vegetables or fruits, only juice.
Here is a brakedown of my experience:
TOTAL AMOUNT OF 500ML JUICES:
24 of 25 ( first day I just did not manage the last one, it was too much for me)
TOTAL AMOUNT OF CASHEW NUT MILK’S:
5 of 5. If you get very hungry during your detox days, you can sip on this rich and heavy cashew nut milk, it’s delicious but it’s heavy.
TOTAL AMOUNT OF HUNGER ATTACKS:
TOTAL AMOUNT OF ANGER ATTACKS:
TOTAL AMOUNT OF DAYS WITH BAD MOOD:
1 ( or 2 maybe )
4 ( 4 cigarettes, after my colleague told me this ist he worst you can do on a detox)
TOTAL AMOUNT OF VISITS TO THE TOILET:
aprox 45 in 5 days ( due to the amount of liquid running through my body )
BEST JUICE FLAVOUR:
made of apple, kiwi, cucumber, orange, mangold and chlorella
BEST AFTER DETOX EFFECT:
Glowing, healthy skin and that energy level
MOST CRAVED FOODS:
olives, edamame beans, tomatoes, mostly greens but everything salty and of course chocolate
Had the worst and longest headache ever, it lasted for 3 days
The amount of visits to the toilet
The amount of juice, it was a lot ( for me at least)
It’s said that 1 detox per year should be healthy for your body and health. Just be conscious of your body signals. It’s a heavy thing for both mind and body. Take all precautions seriously. Im happy to wait 11 months before doing it again, but at the same time I look forward to it.
