Isabel Marant for H&M
After 9 issues of printed “love”, it was finally the right time to go digital. We are excited to launch our online magazine. To present ourselves, the team, we came up with the idea to reshoot our favorites from the Isabel Marant for H&M campaign. For years we have been scanning the blogs out there, with a vision of course. With our printed magazine we have brought our personal language and the honesty to the printed world. Now it is time to connect the personal and authentic language of the blogs on our visual standards of a magazine and put the whole thing in the digital universe. And the content of I LOVE YOU is now both in German and in English.
Let’s go straight to the point like classic fashion bloggers. The team of I LOVE YOU did a reshoot of the Isabel Marant campaign for H&M. It created not only a good opinion about the collection, the look and the feeling, but also a lot of fun and laughter!
Creating the collection, Isabel’s aim was to achieve a sense of a certain carelessness, which she definitely did. She is an expert in creating those obsessive pieces that makes you look effortless but chic at the same time. She knows how to dress a woman for every occasion, this is no news. For H&M, Isabel has recreated the signature pieces from her own collections.
Normally I’m not very convinced by all the hype that happens around Isabel Marant. If you know about the “carelessness” signature of Isabel Marant then it’s clear that these pieces are great fundamentals with an amazingly good quality. But what I am wondering is; if you don’t know that the pieces are labeled Isabel Marant, can’t you then just think that these are good quality designed pieces by H&M itself? However, the opportunity to snag an affordable fashion piece with an amazing quality, I will probably not miss out on. Me a.k.a Milla, was wearing the white leather pants with lacing on the sides, one of my favorite pieces. Just a note, choose a size smaller than normal if you’d like to get them.
Nevertheless, the collection reflects the key points of Isabel Marant and H&M quite well; great quality in relation with affordable prices and the “easy attitude” signature of the designer. I’m sure that the leather pants will not disappear from my closet for the next couple of years.
The collection is available on November 14th in H&M stores globally and online. BTW, did you know that the collaboration also contains a men’s and kid’s collection?! Good excuse to bring the whole family for a shopping spree.
The original campaign pictures of Isabel Marant for H&M, where lensed by Karim Sadli, well known by his minimalist aesthetic and his sophisticated use of lighting. After discussing who should be copied as who, recreating the style with the collection and the make up, our serious model behavior was directly there when the camera light went on. “Maybe a little bit more lipstick, some more wind in the hair and a touché of rouge for extra contour.”
