Le Cabinet de Curiosités celebrates it 5th edition and for the first time in Asia. The capital of Thailand, Bangkok, an upcoming hub for creatives in the Indian Pacific, together with Barom Bhicharnchitr and the Siwilai Concept Store, Bangkok hosts the 5th edition of French entrepreneur Thomas Erber’s exclusive traveling shopping experience and exhibition Le Cabinet de Curiosités.
Siwilai Concept Store, located at The Central Embassy, the newly opened luxury shopping mall in Bangkok’s Sukhumvit area is hosting the exhibition until 21 December. The Central Embassy is the new destination for high end luxury retailers as Saint Laurent and Proenza Schouler that recently opened up their first Thai outpost’s right here. Barom Bhicharnchitr is the natural-born-visioneer and the brain and founder of Siwilai, the shopping destination that can easily be compared with top luxury retail destinations as 10 Corso Como or Dover Street Market. Thomas Erber’s choice of location fell on Siwilai:
“This choice was based on intuition and it was a really good one: Central Embassy is now breaking the rules of the traditional luxury mall and takes it fast to the 21st Century”
For the 5th edition, Erber has invited over 60 international designers, artists, photographers, chefs, musicians and other creatives to create limited edition objects and experiences for the annual exhibition and shop. The concept itself is very unique, as every piece that is made especially for it, it pushes the boundaries of todays shopping and retail philosophy. Since it’s 1st exhibition inside Paris “hipster shack” Colette in 2010 it has been a success story, following cities as Berlin, New York and London and now with its 5th stop in Bangkok, Thailand.
The curated selection of designers includes a handful of permanent guests and another handful of local talents, for the Thai edition we find rarities as crocodile-upholstered motorbike by Halfcaste Creations, exclusive and unique jewellery from Patcharavipa; a collection of 3 rings and 2 bangles in 18 karat Pink Gold and Thai Ivory.
