FASHION WEEK BERLIN: MARINA HOERMANSEDER A/W 15
After a successful internship at Alexander McQueen’s atelier Marina Hoermanseder had her very own debut with the namesake brand during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Berlin. Her signature design unites advanced cuts with a inclination for fetish elements. Experimenting with sharp contrasts and the beauty of the different seem to be a routine in every single collection: shiny patent leather corsets and convoluted buckles are paired with dainty flowing fabrics.
With slimline silhouettes and details that recall value, such as twisted leather straps and rivets, Hoermanseder creates an interaction between avant-garde fashion and ready to wear. Her collections always include accessoires like buckle bags or like this time: furry hand muffs. Most of the garments are made of vegetable-tanned, hand-lacquered leather. Marina finds her inspiration from different sources, an example; 18th century orthopedic corsets. Every single piece unifies the highest level of craftsmanship, a hence eagle eye down to the smallest of elements.
